If I told you he would have to kill you.
You will probably find that 90% + of the membership have at sometime forgot to remove the protective film off blanks that have them.

Jack.
If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.

How does metal absorb moisture ??? I'm not a scientist but does that defy physics? :)

Never seen a rusty car Martin? It can be the surface coating that holds moisture such as paint etc.

....and I'm guessing a plastic covering could make the metal sweat or possibly trap a small amount of moisture against the surface?

Thanks - and the answer at the link says...

Isn't that the metal oxidising rather than holding moisture? ;)

A lot of coatings can be quite porous when applied to metals. One good example of this if you put a matt primer coat onto metal & then leave it outside it will start to rust quite quickly due to it holding moisture. A good example is if you leave your car standing a few days & then look at the brake discs you will usually see a light film of rust on them from the moisture they have picked up from the atmosphere. Aluminum oxidises as opposed to rusting & again this is caused by any moisture in the atmosphere, ask any old Land-Rover owner as most of the outer panels are aluminum.

You don't suspect that the Titanic may have sunk not because it hit an iceberg but because it got thirsty half way around the world and decided to have a drink?
