We get a few enquiries and we have "bodged" it in the past stretching and messing about on the corner of our flat press but it isnt ideal. How do you do it? What do you do?

I would imagine umbrellas were more suitable for pressing on something like a cap press? I am currently myself in the process of making some plate pucks to print onto the centre of plates using a swing arm press and the puck. I like to experiment and if it works it is a cheaper production method for the odd plate or two than buying dedicated items.

The problem I have when printing brollies is what to do with the part of the brolly thats under the table. Open the brolly and it is too large to handle , close it and print it with both sides on the platen ( from the other side) and you have to be very careful not to get the arms (stays?) under the press. Its a two man job.
I hate doing them .

had the press 5 years didnt realise you could do that - doh - thanks

For that kind of money maybe a cheap 12" x 9" chinese press would be a better buy?

brollies are a pain to do we do loads and i hate each blummin one but hey such is life . i open mine fully the handle goes under the bench the problem with printing brollies are theres at least 4 chances of getting it wrong on each brolly it takes a bit of mastering as the pile of mistakes in our cellar would prove. biggest problem is the print transfering to the bed of the press through the brolly material then in turn transfering to the next panel you press causing an image ghost you alsoo have to be pretty quick in moving the paper once the press cycle is complete. you could buy a dedicated platern we didnt bother never felt the need.
