Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Well that's interesting. Just installed Comodo on another PC. Very similar to Rollback, same functions, works as quickly. Maybe not quite as pretty but that doesn't matter....and it's free! I'll keep looking at it
Thanks again.
Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Does Comodo allow you to retrieve files lost following a rollback?

Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Ok, problem, can't get Comodo installed onto my main PC
Not sure why, loaded easily on another so can't be much of an issue. Tried searching and ended up back at the Comodo site where the company are getting a serious grilling for the software, supposedly riddled with bugs...yet some members still swear by it!
Oh well, I'll keep searching for a solution or it's back to Rollback!

Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Just my two penneth..I wouldn't touch Comodo products with a barge pole. A friend of mine a couple of years ago advised me to install their free anti-virus, of which I did. After a couple of months I was having some problem with it (can't remember what it was now), but tried to un-install..it' didn't want to know..I like to think i'm pretty savvy with computers but I couldn't get it un-installed for love nor money. A week later a guy I was at school with many years ago who is now a self employed computer repairer had a look for me and he couldn't do it either. I had to wipe it all and re-format to get rid of the c*@p. Hopefully they have now got their act together regarding buggy software...but I for one will never be touching a piece of their software again..It's ok while it's working, but when it decides to act up or you want to un-install
........good luck....
I've tried a demo of Rollback on a spare PC and it seemed to work fine.

Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Yeah, I've knocked Comodo on the head. It appeared to be running ok but there are so many horror stories on their site and they dropped development, too many alarm bells!
Just tried sysrestore and that seems ok. Only 10 restore points in the free edition but it works well.
Rollback running a treat, spoke to their customer services in Live Chat, very helpful, looks like licences will be $25 each again in the next sale so I'll see how everything goes before then.
Many thanks to everyone for their input, an interesting ride so far

Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Just wanted to come back and update this thread. I installed Sysrestore on a couple of PC's and it appeared to be running very well indeed. Unfortunately one PC started to do a few erratic/strange things upon booting and eventually the system registry became corrupted! This was on a new install I'd been working on and I'm pretty sure it was Sysrestore that caused it.
The same fault occured on another PC
It's running OK on a third but I'll probably take it off.
I've stuck with my initial option of Rollback Rx and it appears to be working like a dream, no issues at all (touch wood) I'm waiting for the September sale (being a tight English man with Scottish blood living up North) so that I can get a couple of licenses for $25
but reckon I'll deffo keep using this.
Many thanks for everyone's input. Fun as always trying out new software...especially the free options which in so many cases seem to be the best...but maybe not here.

Re: Rollback/Restore Software
Rollback Rx is now on sale, you can buy it for $25 (just over £19) per licence, usual cost is $69 so this is a great saving. I just bought a couple of licences and also their Drive Cloner software. This particular sales is on until 3rd September
