Supplier postage
Re: Supplier postage
Yes i know what the magnets are i tried explain in post that there the ones that stick to the back of magnets and not the actual magnets i.e plastic uni-sub type.
This whole thread seems to be going round in circles all i wanted to say is the fact that suppliers are charging stupid prices for delivery, how do expect new customers to try out your products if you're going to charge them silly postage prices cause they only place small order.
My point also was how come i was only charged £4.50+VAT and it was delivered by postman back in may yet this time you charged £7+VAT and delivered it via parcelforce.
Surely a packet of paper and few magnets can go via postman like it has on several occasions when i've had to order from you.

Re: Supplier postage
It shouldn't matter if you pay using paypal, several of my customer use paypal and it tells me instantly if they have paid so i don't understand why that would slow down getting your order dispatched.bigj2552;49145 wrote: i payed by paypal, instead of my usual card(my fault), so the payment process would take longer to get approved than it would if i was paying by my card

I ordered off BMS last week had the small order next day even though he quoted parcel force 24-48..Mattie;49147 wrote:It shouldn't matter if you pay using paypal, several of my customer use paypal and it tells me instantly if they have paid so i don't understand why that would slow down getting your order dispatched.
By the way parcel force is dearer than royal mail any way.
I can't fault BMS in any way and would recomend them ........
Re: Supplier postage
you missing the point in that what mattie trying to say. No one even try to say service is bad. It might be excelent but price is higher then expected for little.things. In this case value of this paper was bumped about 50%. So this price need to be transfered to the customer. And i too think £7 for paper is steep as hell.Charlie_;49149 wrote:I ordered off BMS last week had the small order next day even though he quoted parcel force 24-48..

I'm not trying to annoy or make trouble i was just pointing out i feel the postage was very steep for what i ordered when in the past BMS have been great.Charlie_;49149 wrote:I ordered off BMS last week had the small order next day even though he quoted parcel force 24-48..

I don't understand your point about parcelforce being dearer than royal mail, i know that to be the case but if you check my post where i attached the image it clearly shows only one royal mail option and that was at £12.50+VAT so i had no choice but to select the parcelforce £7.00+VAT option as this was the cheapest way.
Yet in the past i have been able to select royal mail at a little bit cheaper rate of £4.50+VAT

Re: Supplier postage
Has anybody thought about dividing the items into individual items as you would then get the same price of each item be it a sheet of transfer paper or a stick to the back of a magnet thingy.......I'll go get my coat
Re: Supplier postage
I got caught out with postage and vat, I think I even had a moan on this forum, what it did do was make me pay more attention to where I ordered and check the postage and vat. It is annoying when the cost more than you think. But suppliers are not going to change their pricing on postage, so I chose not to shop with them again. That way my blood pressure stays level and my anger levels low, because it did wind me up.

Re: Supplier postage
postage prices can be difficult to get right for any online seller you cant always get it right, on my site i charge £4.50 for 1 umbrella but if you buy 2 you get charged £9.00 (4.50 each) yet 2 brollies go for the same price as one. its very difficult to work round this i tend to refund over payments, im gussing this is probably the case with your paper some will probably benifit ie those who buy more than one and some will lose out ie yourself as you bought a single item on the other hand prices on larger orders are very reasonable so in the end it all equals out i think its royal mail who should get the flak for over complicating what was a reasonable system
Re: Supplier postage
Just wanted to clarify a few matters in relation to this thread for the sake of accuracy...Mattie;49128 wrote:My second order was
X1 A4 sub paper - weighing 311g
X50 replacement magnets - weighing 11g (that stick to back of fridge magnets)
Postage for this order cost me £7+VAT = £8.40
A pack of A4 TruPix paper weighs 784g (not 311g as quoted above).
Each magnet weighs between 3g - 4g so 50 magnets are closer to 200g (not 11g as quoted above).
With packaging this would take the parcel over 1kg and as a company we don't send anything over 1kg by post (unless Special Delivery is required) so it goes by Parcelforce as a courier item.
Royal Mail quote £5.60 on a package weighing 1000g - 1250g, but a courier service was used and a courier service does not generate a profit anywhere near £5.70 when it is charged at £7 +vat for a 24 hour service! There are no 'hidden' profits to be made as alleged here.Mattie;49128 wrote:I have weight my last order and checked on royal mail prices and first class would of cost £2.70 so to make £5.70 profit on postage is a bit of a rip even with packaging costs as it was only a envelope.
Whilst I have no problem with open and honest debate, I would prefer accuracy in such discussion as the thread implies something which is not wholly accurate.
I don't really want to open this up again as it went round in circles the first time. Just wanted to draw a line under it with some balance and accurate data.
