Supplier postage

Does anyone else think that some suppliers are charging to much for postage.

I placed a small order with a supplier on monday and was charged what i thought to be far to much for what i ordered and it's not even here yet, for the price i paid i would expect next day delivery.

Well postage costs are down to royal mail, unless a carrier is used. If you thought the postage was exhorbinate why did you but from that supplier then ?...

charlie-- For what i ordered i know for fact it shouldn't of cost what i was charged even with royal mail, i ordered from them cause my other supplier was out of stock of what i needed.

Sounds like a profit was made then out of the postage, out of curiosity will be interesting to see what price stamp it has on it then ............

Some do seem to take the pi55...............I only ever charge 'cost' for anything I post out. I feel it's high enough already and simply passing on the 'cost' seems to make customers happy to come back for more whereas if I hit them for a 'profit' they might not be happy.

I do the same as Roger only charge for delivery at cost which my customers are more than happy with.

I also only charge cost, sometimes even below cost if I cock up. My business runs on every sale becoming a repeat customer. From that I get a lot of word of mouth.

Well today postage is the ecommerce traders worst nightmare. Postage is even worse if you do not have a franking machine to save on the costs. I have weighed my mugs and packaging at 450g and if you send that out by 1st class post it is close to £3.00 and a little more if you cover packaging costs. The trouble with most sellers is they have a minimum charge that for light items seems excessive but for heavy weight items is dead cheap. It is quite funny if you read some sites it is like free postage above £60 but £8 below £60 so in theory if ordering £52 pounds of goods its worth buying more to get to £60!!

I've just checked my file and i've ordered the same product from them in May and was only charged £4.50 which i still would say is a bit high as it was only a A4 pack of sub paper.

Anyway it's turned now so i can keep my paper stock levels at where i like them haha
