Another one tomorrow eve.
Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
Just got back last night from our show, worst show ever but having said that we would have been closed on Sunday so anything extra is great.
We take all of our t shirts etc Phil and a few bits and bobs ie Cornish themed gifts etc.
It is definately worth it for us and as Jenny has said it's all a lot of exposure and we get sales off the back of it too.

Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
We had a excellent show, a good day Saturday, but it rain all Sunday night and the rain seeped into the tents, but it was dried out by the time he opened at 10, a towel is a wonderful thing. Sunday was not as good as Saturday but every little helps, he got back at 9.30 had had the biggest stew waiting for him, The trouble being we normal go further for shows but due to petrol cost, we are sticking nearer home, but find that circuit that's local is harder than you think, we have no show lined for next week and are still looking, there must be a list of events somewhere on the web, but no matter what I type in its mostly car boots. And also needs to be a two day event as its not worth it for us. Doing shows as I sure ajla will back me up, is very hard work, long hours, all money paid out first with no guarantees of the customer number, even if the events people say 20.000 people attended, they too beef up their advertisement. we been to shows where we think its big, paid a lot to attend and only have 6 traders, and of course not enough pull to bring in the customers.
Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
Thats good news that it wentr well for you Jenny, despited the weather... wish I had someone at home with a stew for me!
We have a weekend off too then a 3 day show at Padstow which was freat last year then a few days off for a rare 1 dayer, this is a huge event which a lot of traders talk about. we can go a day or two prior to the show to set up so that makes it easier, well we wouldnt even consider it if we could only show up on the day. We wouldnt be set up in time.
Enjoy the weekend off with the hubby then Jenny.

Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
There is no trick to it, just pick one and go, if it works then remember it for the following year, We pick from the internet, sometimes when we go we pick up leaflets that advertise the next show, start from near where you live, get a taste to see if its for you, then you'll find what you need for the next show, its a bit like a shop the longer you do the more you learn. But the first one near home the better as its not so to expensive or if its crap you can go hope and have stew and mulled it over for the next time and get warm and dry
Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
Something quite odd here Phil.... I replied to this post and I remember thinking that jennwren beat me to it, how very odd
Anyway it was quite a long one and I have slept since then but to cut it down the stand pitches can vary hugely, from £40.00 (even less) we have qyuite a large area for marquee storage awning and caravan, our best three dayer is a bout £450 ish but these 120 thousand plus coming through the door. We have a rare one dayer coming up which is about £180 for the day..ouch.
I also thought I had posted something witty about the Cornish Mafia when you promised not to trade here, oops I must pay more attention in the future.
PS maybe I used an inappropriate word or something and it got deleted although I doubt it, nice lil ole gal like me

Try bloody Emmet, my mother was Cornish and she taught me a few words about Emmets and bloody is the politest. she believed in Cornish Parliament, funny money (Cornish money) and burning second homes and she wore a tea cosy on her head, ( its a Cornish hat that looks like a tea cosy) wellies, had a walking stick for hitting emmets, and loved horses and pasties. And really hated crossing the bridge to see me.

Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
My mums gone now, but she was old Cornish, took her a while to forgive cos I crossed the bridge to leave home, went mad when I went to Scotland, still my sister and I have a laugh when we talk about her, I left Cornwall and joined u,p no work and my mum trying to marry me to a proper Cornish man made me up and run and join. This weekend at the show is going wet, wet, and really wet, in fact might even turn into mud wrestling weekend. Hubby worried that the van might get stuck still he won't know till then, but I have a bad feeling about this one. Hope you have a better field than we do
Re: Another one tomorrow eve.
Most of the shows we go to there are tractors to tow us in and out, used them many a time too. Time will tell for the weekend hey.
nice you can remember your mum with such fond memories, I can't even think of the day when I will lose one of my parents:frown: I will catch up with you after the weekend and see how you got on .
