I have 4 in total the last done about 20 odd years ago. Each one was done for a reason, they might not be to some of the standards seen today, but at the time were the best avaliable.Justin;48790 wrote:Much the same, love great tatts, hate poor ones. A good tat is a stunning piece of artwork. I've wanted tattoos for as long as I can remember but I never got the designs right (just yet)
In recent years my interest has decreased since they became more 'fashionable'. Everyone seems to have them now and not always for the right reasons. I believe they should be very personal to the owner, meaningful and well thought out. When I finally do get mine done it will be for me, I'm not bothered if others can see them or like them, it's not about showing off.
I guess we (partly) have shows like LA Ink etc. to blame for this. The work they do on these shows is incredible but for me at least it's brought something personal into the mainstream and made them trendy which is a turn off.
