Joining DSF
Re: Joining DSF
I must admit I look in on the forum from time to time - normally if I am a bit bored or if I get stuck and look for inspiration. I hold my hand up I am guilty of being a "User" I have gleaned some great information (had a couple of rows) but I have got to be honest I would miss it if it had gone.
This week especially "Mattie" has helped me out on Opencart (a product I get more impressed with every day that passes) swiftly and for no charge. Somebody (I forget - my apologies) gave me the wordmark.it which is a godsend for font matching. There are countless other ways it has been of help.
So I just paid my tenner. I didnt do it for the discounts although they will always come in handy, or to get access to any other area as the area I use is sufficient. I paid it as a thank you to Justin and hopefully it all helps. If you sit on the sidelines like I did and have been helped perhaps you should too.
Thanks

Re: Joining DSF
Well I paid my £10 when I joined because I had no doubts it would help my progress into dye sublimation. I have more than recouped my £10 and still have plenty of discountable supplies to order. My thanks go out to those that pointed me in the direction of Brother A3 printers (you know who you are), to Steve for his webhosting and additional assistance, to BMS (whom I have yet to purchase from) but whom have given me assistance in threads and to the members that post threads and replies to threads to give me something to look at.
BUT my post would not be complete without my thanks to Justin and his team of helpers for keeping the whole show on the road - Thanks Guys

Gotta admit gstk i was pretty much in the same position as you until i paid me tenner, i think a lot of us who have been here from the start suffered from historical issues (not bringing all that up again now) and a lot of debate over how the forum should be paid for etc it would be easy for some of the newer members who have joined to thik that this board is justins business which obviously it isnt and its worth reminding that justin did run this free of charge since the demise of the forum that shall not be named (bet thats got you new guys wondering) long debates on how to fund the forumwent back n forth i still dont agree with some descions and some i was wrong to disagree on and ive had my fair share of arguments eh paul !! lol but when it comes down to it this place is a fantasic rescource and help is in abundance for example where else can you say anyone got a heart shape mirror to sell me so i can complete an order and then have 3 turn up free of charge within 2 days still owe you a pint or two for them justin. its a cracking forum and unique i think in how its ran im suprised that some suppliers havnt seen the value in this place well done to everyone on here

I also joined and paid up to help the forum along. I had been reading it for a while, and followed the discussion on how to help pay for it. Then there were people complaining that not enough suppliers were getting involved and I decided to join properly and pay up, as I felt that the forum offers so much more than supplier discounts. (Although very grateful to BMS for their discounts, but have not ordered anything from them yet since the discounts came into play!) I try to get on the forum most days just to see what is going on in this world. Very often there are interesting new threads. Great forum! Keep up the good work and thank you.

Re: Joining DSF
Makes for great reading folks, many thanks
The biggest thing I find with this forum is the time of response to new thread. Like most of us, I'm a member of many other forums. Example, I posted a couple of weeks ago on a forum I use, almost 500,000 members....still waiting for a reply to a very straightforward question. When I get a response it's often quite abrupt and less than helpful. DSF Members pounce on threads, offering great advice quickly, quite unique in my experience.
We have a good community here and that's down to you folks as much as anything else so keep up the good work!
