Poor iphone cover results (washed out)
Re: Poor iphone cover results (washed out)
Can you say where the bad ones came from, so that others can avoid buying the poor quality ones?

What's the point of the forum if you can't?JSR;48149 wrote:Can you say where the bad ones came from, so that others can avoid buying the poor quality ones?
Jack.
If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.

No point making to big a deal of it with a supplier as I think it was just a bad batch rather than ongoing issues. Most of the suppliers get them from Bestsub but throughout that supply the printable metal inserts fluctuate on quality. I have had buckled inserts as well as the one's mentioned by the OP where it's hard to get the colour into them.JackB;48150 wrote:What's the point of the forum if you can't?
Jack.
The sparkle effect is probably the most consistent for printing but doesn't suit every design. I've had metal rather than aluminium that works well and the added weight made the whole item feel a bit more quality. You would think having it as light as possible is the way to go but people seem to prefer the heavier version.
As far as all of the other options are concerned....... ipods, htc, samsung, nokia etc., they hardly sell and even when grouped together wouldn't account for 5% of the case sales we do compared to the iPhone. I was actually surprised the Samsung S2 was slow as it was second behind the iPhone for sales on the phone.

If a supplier doesn't return your emails, as with willoman, and isn't quick to refund/replace the dodgy blanks, then there's plenty of point to "making a big deal of it". The next guy who gets lumbered with dodgy blanks from that supplier won't thank you for protecting the supplier's interests.Andrew;48183 wrote:No point making to big a deal of it with a supplier as I think it was just a bad batch rather than ongoing issues.

Hi Guys,
Don't see the point in naming them, I have dealt with the company before without problems.
They did email back after the 4th mail - (1st sent Thursday early evening - 2nd Friday Morning - 3rd Friday afternoon and 4th Monday Morning with a reply 4 hours later saying that they had a solution (pressing for 2 mins) but that didn't work.
I have them from elsewhere now.

I don't know. I don't think I'd feel right if I kept silent on a bad supply of parts, knowing that fellow forum members will be buying them and that they'll end up with dodgy blanks, too.willoman;48328 wrote:Hi Guys,

Surely it would be advantageous to everyone to alert others when there are bad products around, so that they know where not to buy them from if they want to be sure of good products?
It seems to go against the spirit of the forum community to be secretive when there are bad products around.
This would work in favour of the supplier, not against them, for if they respond quickly to requests for help and are rapid in refunding/replacing the blanks, then that speaks volumes for them as a dependable and reliable supplier. Bad blanks can happen at any time, it's how the supplier deals with them that's important.
Re: Poor iphone cover results (washed out)
While I'm not naming the supplier who sent the dodgy blanks (at least until I've spoken to them), what I will say is that I went to Listawood to get some instead and they are turning out just fine.

Can understand you don't want to name your supplier as you use them a lot, but at the same time saving others from buying the same bad batch and going through the same as you, wouldn't that be more informative and helpful to other members.
