Re: First Mugs

Post by JMugs »

Printed my first mugs tonight.
Been a busy night, install the printer (Ricoh 3110DN) download the profile, and print.

Noticed that the reds are orange, my daughters hair which is very light brown has gone ginger, and the paper looks very charred, so I guess temperature is a bit much or time is too long or somethng! I was using 170 degrees for 140 seconds. Some fettling will be required.

I have turned off the colour profile that was listed in Coraldraw as instructed, so I assume that I am printing with the profile downloaded from Sawgrass, but I am not sure!

Time for bed.

What profile is selected in CDraw? As Paul mentions, why not use the Powerdriver?

I assumed that if I follow the Sawgrass instructions it would use powerdriver ad the default, but I guess not.
I presume in the settings bit I do something there and then just print through the usual coraldraw print option.

You'll need to follow the instructions on how to set it up. Don't 'assume' anything as computers need to be told what to do rather than work on intelligence! :). Download PowerDriver and configure this to work with the Ricoh. Don't change anything in Corel from the default installation (if you have then change it back) and tthen print to PowerDriver (not Gelsprinter as this is the original Ricoh driver).

All is explained on the download PDF files on the sawgrass website.

Ahh you see I fell at the last hurdle!
The driver did not initialise for the "powerdriver" hence I was printing through the Ricoh Printer setting not the "Powerdriver" setting.
Not sure what I did, but it told me this on screen, not sure what I did after that as I followed the instructions from "Windows", restarted it as a guess, and now the "powerdriver" option comes up for printing.
Janners is a happy chappy with the result.

Onwards.

Thanks all.

Really, really, really (got the idea?) pleased with the results.
Good to have the Girlies (AJLA and Jennywren) keeping an eye on me.

Role on rolling out the business properly.

BTW I did mean overcooking, ooops bit tired after the show. I must admit I do prefer the quality of the images from the Ricoh to my old Epson.
Hey your missus will be on to you.... you "are" supposed to be having a bit of time off before getting stuck into something else don't forget.
