I use the B1100 for my A3 work, print quality is very good but not as good as my 6 colour Epson P50 imo. If you really need A3 its the cheapest option but the Ricoh is a great starting point if you can manage with A4 for a while.

i have 2x brother 5910dw A3 printers justin and there were on sale @ £99 each - CHEAPER than the b1100. - can still be bought for £99 if you look hard enough !
quality of prints are excellent...
and its the ONLY/cheapest A3 ive used lol
left it for 1 wk of NO use - came back - prints no probs - no blockages / lines on paper ect....and that was it doing nothing for just over a week !
and if yer still lost - sod it - lets go for a beer to settle the heads:biggrin:

The previous model (MFC-5890CN) can still be had for £90 or less, making it even cheaper.bigj2552;47606 wrote:i have 2x brother 5910dw A3 printers justin and there were on sale @ £99 each - CHEAPER than the b1100. - can still be bought for £99 if you look hard enough !
Justin might be talking about the cheapest "authorised" printer (i.e. "cheapest A3 printer that Sawgrass can be bothered to support").

Re: epson b1100 0r ricoh 3300
B1100 is the cheapest supported option, I don't use brother printers. B1100 can be bought for under £100 new. Not sure how much it works out at when bought with inks. Anyway back to the OP's question.....
Re: epson b1100 0r ricoh 3300
I wouldn't say there is any significant different in quality between the B1100 and the Ricoh. I've printed with both and demo the Ricoh and the print quality on both is superb. However the Ricoh's may be better suited to a startup but if you expect to be printing daily or very frequently then the Epson may be suitable. The reason for this is that the Ricoh's will print first time, every time (sweeping generalisation) especially if left for periods of non-printing whereas the Epson printers may require a little more nozzle check/ priming to work if left along for longish periods of time. The B1100 with ink will work out more expensive that the Ricoh on first cost outlay but you will get more ink with the B1100 to start with.johnyk;47588 wrote:hi after spending days looking for a sublimation printer.
