URGENT - Ebay Combi Presses
Re: URGENT - Ebay Combi Presses
lol - cannot wait! But the Rico's not arriving til tomorrow. Dunno when BMS are shipping the blanks and sundries, so it's still in the box. Will pass the time researching all this profile stuff so I waste no time and very little money.

Just checking - you have bought a Ricoh with sublimation inks haven't you? Whatever you do, don't put the genuine Ricoh cartridges in the printer.Gelert;46242 wrote:lol - cannot wait! Well, if it is the supplier that I think it is off eBay then I would love to know how you get on with your new combi press. I have just found out that I only live about 10 mins drive away and that would make it a reasonable place to buy from if the quality is ok. Like you money is very tight for me at the moment and a pound saved now (even if not the smartest move long term) is more important to me.Gelert;46140 wrote:I've just gone and ordered a 5 in 1 combi for £260 inc postage - the price is really important as I'm on a shoestring
So please keep me informed on your progress and good luck

I'm just in the process of taking it out of the box! Hope to have a spin tonight (if the Ricoh printer works ok and I don't need to go in there and fiddle with the colours). Will certainly report back here

Re: URGENT - Ebay Combi Presses
I was thinking if I was very impatient I would make a sub print of just say coloured spots or squares then it wouldnt really matter how it printed lol. Lets be honest what house does not always have a space for more mugs
Re: URGENT - Ebay Combi Presses
Well, 10 days after my combi press arrived, I've broken it:/ Only really used the mug part as have sold over 50 already, but today it gave up the ghost. Got a techie mate over to have a look just now and he reckons the element's gone.
Nasty email time:/ Am gonna have to get another mug press to fulfil the orders I've had since the press popped it's clogs! Aaaargh!

Well, sorry to hear of your news. I suppose that small mercies can be had by the fact that mug presses seem to be the cheapest standalone machines to purchase. I do however wonder if you used a blank sacrificial mug in the press whilst heating to 180 degrees. I have read that not using a mug in the press whilst heating the to 180 degrees can radically shorten the heating elements life.
