Having looked about for a few weeks & having a £1000 budget to get started I plan on purchasing the following items to get me up & running.
Ricoh GXe3300 from BMS complete with 4 carts £322
38x38 garment clam press from coralgraph £220
Mug Press Heat Press from coralgraph £130
Total Cost £670 leaving me £330 to factor in blanks, spare set carts & shipping.
Due to the items i aim to produce, Metal Plaques, SubAcrylic awards, Mugs etc would the heat press give enough room for printing thicker items.
Have went for the ricoh as the refills are £40 per cart which seems reasonable for a 4 cart setup & I like the idea of a power driver which will enable me to use any image software program.
does the above make good economic sense given my budget or should I be aiming for something else entirely.
All advice greatly received & any pointers for cheap reliable paper for the mugs would be of benefit also.
Starter set up, is it any good.

All reputable suppliers can't go wrong, all have good after care service and I always say that is invaluable, I have brought of both and rate the highly

If you are going to do the acrylics then I would go for the swing press rather than clam press. The swing press is much better for the acrylics. By the way, if you spend £10 on DSF membership then you could save a shed load more on buying all these. IMO if possible get all your stuff from BMS. I was (and still am to a large extent) very new to sublimation and went to see the folks at BMS. Martin and subsequently all the people there have been helpful during my initial purchases and subsequent to those purchases in the best possible customer satisfaction way. I can't fault their service and would highly recommend them for all your needs.........and no I'm not on commission.....
