Is the new iPad the same as the iPad2?

As the title suggests, I've been asked if the iPad covers (which are sold as "iPad2 covers/cases") will also fit the "new iPad"? I think the new iPad is slightly thicker, but I don't own either of them so cannot confirm?

Any thoughts???

The current iPad 2 cover isn't suitable for the iPad3. New production of the iPad2 covers are being made that will be suitable and interchangeable for both the iPad2 and iPad3. Check with your suppliers for which one they have, but I don't think the latest version is readily available here yet.
