I've dipped my toes back into sublimation after a few years away hitting DTG printers with hammers and tree branches. So far so good and found these forums, having struggled to get decent prints on lighters (in the style of a name similar to a popular character on Rainbow) I hope to find the answer

Welcome to the forum :) have you tried white lighters as those may be better for that range of colours.
