Re: Ricoh printer profile problems..........

Post by davem1013 »

Hi all
I am very new to these forums and dye sublimation and i have a very newbie question.
I bought a Ricoh GXe3300n and installed the driver on my macbook, then installed the printing profile which told me it was a success but when it came to printing from Illustrator i couldn't find the profile i had just installed the only one there was the original Ricoh one.
I looked in the library/coloursync/profiles folder on the mac as someone suggested but it wasn't located there am i doing something wrong or am i just thick ??????
Any help would be greatly recieved.

Just a thought but you did install illustrator before the profile and not after didn't you?

Jack
If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.

This process is slightly different to the way i done it, a couple of the steps weren't present in my instructions. Im hoping this makes all the difference......
Thank you for a quick response i will try this as soon as i get back, failing that i here its a lot easier using a windows pc instead of a mac.

Just a quick thought, but the profile that you are seeing - is it called 'Ricoh 3300 v1.02' (or similar)? If so, this is the sublimation profile.
If you still can't find it, PM me on Monday and I will be able to email it to you.

Good luck with the printer you will be lucky if it last much past the warranty period.

Interesting first post! Welcome to the forum.

If a Ricoh printer should fail after 12 months then support is available from the authorised distributor network to get you up and running via Sawgrass as several members, and customers, should be able to testify to.

I guess lots of members and guests will be watching this reply with interest. Our experience has shown that Sawgrass offer a significant contribution to upgrade/ replacing the Ricoh printers when they are outside the 12 month warranty period. I'm not going to outline the specific support as each case is looked at individually but suffice to say that Sawgrass have an interest in ensuring the end user continues to be able to print and to achieve that the end user needs a printer and inks. I'm not saying you'll get a free printer and a free set of inks if the printer packs up after 12 months but a small number of our customers that have had problems more than 1 year after purchase have been offered a very attractive upgrade/ replacement route.
