First ever printed pen :)

this is the first pen i have ever attempted to do, the pen i got from BMS and needless to say im well happy with it as i am with most of the stuff i get from them.

Sorry is I sound negative, I dont mean to be.
But are the Wolves on the pen in focus or is it the photograph added?
How much do you hope to charge per pen and what is your market?

I ask as I have had a few enquiries re pens but the prices required are silly.

they are done in a halogen oven and they take 30 mins to do.

the pens themselves to buy are not cheap so, i will be putting them out at about £8.50 each

and the wolves are in focus its just the photo that was taken. took it on a cheap camera phone :rolleyes:

they are abit but when you have nothing else to do with your time its something to do.

I'm interested in the pens, but they're just too expensive.

A few months back, my brother wanted 100 pens for an organisation he works with. When I told him the absolutely minimum cut-my-own-throat price, he almost had a heart attack.

The price of the blank pens is clearly based on what the manufacturer/supplier think we'll pay, rather than what it actually costs to make. With the faff required to print it, it's an awfully expensive mistake if something goes wrong so they can't be sold to the end customer for an economical price. I don't see where the profit is.

Needless to say, I've not looked at the pens since.

So you've calculated that the ink, paper, electricity, work, postage in, etc means you'll still get profit out of £2.56? With all the faffing about, if you make one mistake then it'll cost you another £5.94 and you'll be upwards of £3.50 out of pocket.

I wouldn't feel comfortable selling one-off pens for anything less than £12, so that at least potential wasteage is covered. A better price would be £15 and, at that price, they won't sell.

These blank pens need to be less than £3 to make the one-off selling price down to £8.50 for me and, even then, I doubt many would sell when you can buy insert pens for a quid.

if you mess up its your own fault for not doing it right in the first place, plus i myself would rather have a decent pen than a cheap i pound pen any day so i would pay a tenner all day long for a decent one and these pens are well worth that i think
