? Which flex Laura ?

Surely pre-pressing a garment or substrate is nothing to do with the flex or substrate you're using but merely a task to remove any moisture that is in the item.

I'm curious now ?

Adam 123 flex from magic touch is quite clear "do not pre press" its a new flex from them, that presses in 3 seconds, so any pre-pressing is out. just thought it was worth mentioning as i have to remember not to pre press when using it.

Thanks Laura - you learn something new everyday :)

for anyone else, the link for the 123 flex is at: http://www.themagictouch.co.uk/cutting/123flex.htm

I take it you have used this flex Laura? (if so, what's it like for application and washing etc compared to other flex's - I mainly use MDP Hot flex)

I might email them later for a sample.

Thanks again :)

we have found it good so far, med tac for weeding, so may not suit very detailed work, but amazingly fast and easy, good for layering, has a slightly different feel to their std flex, good price, washed a few new printed ones at home, and seem no different to any other flex. main dissadvantage - forgetting when pressing other flex and then spoiling the design as you pull the backing off too soon

Thanks Laura. I'm amazed at how much cheaper it is than their premium flex and also what I'm currently paying at mdp! Granted the minimum quantity is 5m, but even so, still cheaper...

@ Laura - are those "purpose made teflon sheets" taliored to your actual press size ?...or are they just a standard size, fits all type of thing ?

how are they held onto the press ? some kind of tie / cord ?

and where to get em from ?...the usual suppliers that are most talked about on here i take it ?

cheers

There are different sizes to teflon. Standard sheet sizes are around A3 I think, but you can get larger sizes as well, e.g. 400mm x 600mm which covers the larger of the heat press platens.
