Re: interesting day andpicked up some bits and pieces, but what are they :s

Afternoon all,

went to see a friend who's been having a tough time, he had just launched a new printing business approx 18 months ago but never got going as a messy divorce got in the way.

Sadly he has lost all interest in printing, he has already sold his HUGE roland printer/cutter, but had a raft of other stuff just sitting around gather dust in his garage.
He has offered it all to me, but as mentioned on another thread i am not up to speed on sub printing, so am not entirely sure what i have picked up so far.... Its all had VERY little use or in the case of the press, no use what so ever, there is still the cable ties on the power cables.

It appears to be a five in 1 press with a small shirt swivel platen, a cap press, a mug press and 2-3 other types of heat plate that i have no idea what they are for (three differing sizes of circular heat plate, what do you do with these!?!?).

An epson 1400 with refillable ink system (no idea what inks are in it yet). A new ciss piano refillable ink thing (still boxed, unused) not pictured.

A strange heat box, has a massive light bulb and reflector inside, but also inside is a load of glass/crystal style paperweight things, this thing baffles me the most..

Have included some pics below, if someone could shed some light as to what ive got, or how best to plug it in and test it all as it has all sat around for some time.

Round elements are for pressing ceramic plates or smaller sublimation items. Big box look like xrystal printing machine.

cheers for the info paul, may leave that crystal thing till i get back from holiday at the end of april lol, one step at a time methinks.

Am just trying to get the epson 1400 up and running just using the std software to head cleans etc till i can get it in a possible usable state, once i get there how can i find out which inks are in it to be able to get a profile?

print something and try transfer it to, let say a mug :) if graphic transfer then it is sublimation ink. if not then oh well... :) is not sublimation ;)
