Does any one have any what programme to do line art, I was going to do it in coral draw but could not find any decent links on how to do this, I simply need to turn images in to black lines minus the colour, (not very well described sorry ) any suggestions

If you select the image, bitmaps, trace bitmap, line art and then choose black and white in the drop down box - it should do the job hun :)

In Photoshop - open photo, create duplicate layer and work on the top layer. In the layers palette change the normal to colour dodge then hit control i (your photo will just about disappear or go white). Go to filter, blur, Gaussian blur and set it to something between 3 and 12, click Ok. Go back to the layers palette and click the icon that looks like a circle with half of it blacked out (create new fill adjust layer) click on hue and saturation and set this to -100.

5 - minute job - Bobs ya uncle, a perfect line drawing.

John G I'm trying your suggestion in Photo shop, but is it possible for you to show me in screen shots as I'm struggling to get past the first stage to find the layers palette.

Hi Jennywren,
I wouldn't have a clue how to do the screen shot thing. The layers palate thing is with channels / paths under history etc on the bottom left of the screen but people may have their photoshop set up differently to mine.

Maybe Paul will come along and do his video tutorial as he does it really well.

Doing it this way, with Photoshop, gives results like these ones attached, and took 2 minutes. I've tried with Coreldraw and never had usable results like these.

You can change the amount of Gaussian blur and can convert to a bitmap later to give more of a lined effect if required

If you press F7 on the keyboard it will show/hide the layers menu on the right hand side of the screen.
ctrl + J will copy a layer.

Jack.
If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.

Good one Tony, seems to be similar to what I do but simplified.
