Another Newbie
Re: Another Newbie
Hiya, very, very new to this and very, very confused. Found this website by mistake and feel very luck that I did!! Running embroidery and heat press machines at the moment and want to get involved in sublimation and t-shirt printing. Wow!! Didnt realise it was so involved. Will take advice and sit down with a cuppa and go through it all. To think I was only looking to see if the Ricoh printers advertised on ebay (£60) were any good. Saw the Apprentice program the other night, now that was scary!!!
Anyway, pleased to be a member and look forward to any advice given.

Hi and welcome, as you say a cuppa and a long read will answer quite a few of your questions no doubt and save you a few ££££'s along the way

Welcome Donnette, take plenty of advice before jumping in. Just because someone on Ebay says a particular printer may work with sublimation it isn't always true or trouble free. Clearly I'm biased (
), but you get back up and support from one of the authorised distributors as well as significantly discounted options if your printer fails after the initial 12 month guarantee. Sit back and enjoy reading
Re: Another Newbie
Hi Martin, Thanks for your advice. I have tried calling you today with regards to purchasing a Ricoh 3300 (if this is the best way forward for us!!) and am unable to leave a message. Also, would like advice on Inkjet printers and papers.bms;43057 wrote:Welcome Donnette, take plenty of advice before jumping in. Thanks Mrs Maggot, love the name btw, I am a maggotsmum!!!! Well, a few cups later am still confused but think we are getting there. Looking to sublimate and heat transfer t-shirts!! (I think hee hee) and appears like we need two printers, a Ricoh for sublimating and an inkjet for t-shirts. Am I right??. Again, sorry if this is in the wrong forum but havent worked out how to contact members other than replying!mrs maggot;43054 wrote:Hi and welcome, as you say a cuppa and a long read will answer quite a few of your questions no doubt and save you a few ££££'s along the way

Re: Another Newbie
You can use the sub printer for t shirts too - but they have to be white/light sub t' shirts with a high content of polyester for the sublimation to work.
