I have installed the Vendorshop app in my facebook and have added an item. I thought the set up looked quite good and had good features. My only concern and lack of knowledge as I am not a big facebooker is how anyone finds your store or products. I cannot find any sign of the item but maybe I am being a bit premature and should wait for the databases to update. Any opinions or advice gratefully received.

I tried the whole Payvment thing.. but ended up that Create.net that I do my site through, now have their own app.. so my site and FB shop are linked and doesn't cost me anything extra either.. don't know about Vendorshop though..

be careful of these companies that cold call you and offer FB shops, its just simple scripting that anyone can do and they want £150 for it.

payvement is good but it lacks the all important "like" attribute. some FB apps offer this function so that if a member 'likes' your product and they actually buy it, you can give them a discount. That 'like' shows up within your FB friends and sales come from that. why payvment hasnt done this yet is unbelievable.

payvment is actually pretty crap....been playing around with it the last wk...and its just not doing it for me....and besides - facebook have changed the look on fan & business pages 2/3 days ago.....dont like it at all....

anyone think this is worth the money / time and effort to try and boost intrest before i open....and generate sales when opened ?

Guys - not sure why anyone would 'pay' for a shop when you can set one up for FREE with vendorshop?

sorry - just read that vendorshop was mentioned earlier (off to work in a few mins so wanted to reply).

It's installed with a couple of pages I have with no problem and there is a great support forum available for problems. If you then want to highlight a specific item/product then you can purchase an additional tool to allow you to post a direct link to it on a facebook page. Other than that you can just direct to your shop front.

I've been looking into this for a while and the more I read on websites the better a facebook shops are. But, the more I read on different FORUMS, the more I hear that nobody, I mean nobody, is actually selling anything off them and it's all hype.

Yes they generate a little bit interest towards your brand or website, but the time used to keep people interested in your facebook page/store may as well have been spent getting your website polished and out there.

i am slightly leaning towards your way of thinking john.......

yes, people look....but i havent heard of very many ( if any ) getting sales to make it worth the while with the hassle of updating it......

if you dont keep up with your F/B store front, and it starts to get/look shabby/stale.....that would give potential customers the WRONG idea about your business, i would think.....
maybe put just a simple front page with SOME pics and text describing what it is you sell ect...but NO prices....link em to your O/C store front instead....
