Re: Courier Service?

Does anyone use a courier service for sending out bulky goods?

Would it be of interest to forum members if we offered a collection/ delivery service via ParcelForce on a 24 hour service? We would arrange collection from you (normal UK addresses - sorry Justin not the Shetlands!) to other normal UK addresses for £10 +vat (£11.75). This would be for a single package weighing no more than 30kg (could be up to 72 mugs for instance). If there's any general interest in this then I'll upload further details.

Let me know what you think.

Charming, I go to all this trouble and I'm excluded from the offers! LOL

S'ok, I work for a haulage company and get everything free to and from Aberdeen ;)

Sorry, I already get my couriers for £6.99 + VAT on a 48 hour (which is more often than not delivered next day) or £10 + VAT for guaranteed next day.

Once they're at Abderdeen then that's okay!
couriers for £6.99 + VAT on a 48 hour (which is more often than not delivered next day) or £10 + VAT for guaranteed next day
Good prices - at least we'd be competitive on the 24hr service. One thing I forgot to mention is that for every extra package (up to 30kg) then the cost rises by £5 +vat so long as it is going to the same address.

As guaranteed as one can guarantee (assumes customer is there to sign, no blizzards and no major mechanical breakdown with lorrys etc). Insurance of up to £150 is included but ceramics/ glass products are not insured and insurance is limited to the cost price - proof necessary - of the products). I think the exceptions are standard with most courier services.

As with all couriers there are occasions when the goods don't arrive - we've used ParcelForce for several years now. Tried others and ParcelForce are pretty good the majority of the time.

Postcodes we CANNOT offer this service to are (costs are a lot higher to these areas):
IV, HS, KA27-28,KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE, IM, TR21-25, BT

If anyone would like a collection then we would need:
Full collection address, contact telephone number and full delivery address. This can be phoned through to us or sent by email. The later in the day the collection is arranged then the less likely the collection would be that day. If anyone needs same day collection then it would be best to call our office so we can book it there and then for you.

Hi all,
I've used this service supplied by Martin @ BMS. I emailed Martin on Tuesday morning with collection/delivery info and paid by paypal, my goods (12.6kg print drum for a risograph) arrived today and in perfect condition.

I'd recommend it - good service at a cracking price.

Thanks Martin.
Cheers John
