Hi guys, I've been selling on eBay for years now and was wondering about amazon.

Anyone sell on amazon, is it worth it etc?

Cheers

I believe Amazon is a bit more in depth from what they expect of a seller. I know they don't like personalised stuff and they want everything barcoded. Also, the fees are a little more and they will boot you off if your pricing is higher than your website or suspect you're trying to circumnavigate. Also, if you find a good line that sells well through Amazon don't be surprised if they then stock it direct and undercut you as this has happened to many sellers.

Hi mate, cheers for that.

Have sold things on amazon? Is it profitable etc?
How would they know that my website price is higher?

Cheers for your insight

Don't do it personally but a couple of my customers do and another company a couple of doors up does. They neighbour company has been kicked off currently as they lifted their pricing on Amazon by a few % to account for the higher fees and Amazon had checked the website I assume and found them lower. The reason they don't like it is that then they might lose the sale through Amazon for the cheaper website price.

If you've got the right product I am sure it can work well enough as it's a well worked trading platform. It's a step up from ebay with the way it operates and I think they mainly do this to aim at larger business sellers.
