I always use Royal Mail Recorded services which requires a signature. This will stop people trying to pull a fast one!

Re: Item Not Received.
You'll find you're wasting your money with recorded - it doesn't guarantee your parcel will be any safer, and the compensation is exactly the same as 1st class post - it just costs you 77p more
Re: Item Not Received.
We have been offering a range of 'low value' items, it was impossible to offer these items with 'signed for' delivery and remain competetive.
The target market for these items was also 'risky' (18-24 year old males), INR cases has always been a problem but lately too much so!
I took drastic action on Monday & removed all of these listings from Ebay, this was in excess of 450 listings!
Very hard for me to understand how people can lie about not receiving a delivery just to obtain another 'free' one, as I NEVER offered a refund just sent a replacement 'Signed For'!
I say to the wife 'It's a lovely world...........it's just the people who live on it, spoil it!'.

Maybe true John, but the delivery does require a signature on receipt. This could make it a little tricky for someone who wants to claim the item was not received!John G;40974 wrote:You'll find you're wasting your money with recorded - it doesn't guarantee your parcel will be any safer, and the compensation is exactly the same as 1st class post - it just costs you 77p more

I have had recorded delivery items just put through my door before.. and as Phil says.. they still require a signature.. but in my case, who's to say I ever received it ?? all mine was legal paperwork too for a house sale but still.. didn't seem to matter to the postie
Behind every great man.. is a surprised mother in law..
Re: Item Not Received.
I Looked into this and asked at the post office if it was any safer - I was told by the women who worked there I would be wasting my money.
The only way to send something safely, and guarantee its going to get there, is Special Delivery.
I too have had "recorded signed for" letter/post pushed through the letterbox, without having to sign for it.
