Have you had problems Tony, I thought all the Ricohs were fine for sub printingwill turning it into a dye sub machine give more consistent results than the 3300 please?

Re: ricoh GXe7700
I think the bypass tray is only needed when printed borderless A3 or A3+, its not needed for A3
Re: ricoh GXe7700
ahhh ok i mainly use the standard A3 paper, so the A3+ paper tray not a prob, but thank you
Re: ricoh GXe7700
I remember Justin sending his back, I kept mine for use with normal inkJohn G;40037 wrote:I think the bypass tray is only needed when printed borderless A3 or A3+, its not needed for A3

Re: ricoh GXe7700
patience is a virtue (sorry 4 the spelling) ricoh set up but what a nightmare when i inserted the disc it say "SO wasn't compatiable (i think)" so i walked away waiting to speak to the suppliers
but the other half sat there dealing with it, and managed to get it sorted
just printed up iPhone cover and coaster and mug, mug i ain't 100% happy with, its to do with the colour i printed a giraffe and the colouring/markings look a little more reddish than brown, but i did cook my mug at 200 for 360min's (twice, i turn my mug around), i think i might have to 190 and 2mins each side
do i need to adjust the setting on the ricoh once i've loaded up powerdriver, or does it do it automatically (and if i have to adjust) i be totally lost
does anybody live in around kent and surrounding area's who has done this for along time and expert in setting up and sorting out problems cause i be glady to pay for a mobile sublimation expert to come to me when im having trouble

Re: ricoh GXe7700
well i thought i share my thoughts on my first print and press up on using my new ricoh gex7700
im impressed with the spead of the print coming out of the machine done within seconds
but not 100% happy with images (im about 80%) hopefully once i speak to BMS they might tell me how to get 100% happy with the prints
i found the prints from the ricoh to be dull (duller) than the normal bright clarity of the epson 1400 which i had previously
but that could be me, i just printed i didn't change anything on the properties when i picked up the printer to print so i didn't change paper source, colour or anything
where in the epson you changed it and saved it as sub a4 or sub a3
and i found with the epson i had much better clarity/sharper images printed out where with the ricoh it didn't sharpen and tighten up the image and the colour is slightly off
well i thought i share what i personally think of the ricoh but like i said i need to speak to BMS and see if there are things i ain't done when i should do
later peeps

Re: ricoh GXe7700
You must install PowerDriver otherwise your colours aren't going to be right. That has to be one of the first things you do today.colglyn;40186 wrote:patience is a virtue (sorry 4 the spelling) ricoh set up but what a nightmare when i inserted the disc it say "SO wasn't compatiable (i think)" so i walked away waiting to speak to the suppliers

This is available from:

and support documents for setting it up are at:

Don't worry about the ICC profile as you won't be using that. Also, remember to remove any icc profiling you have remaining in your graphics package from using your photo 1400 - that has to be removed and reset back to the original settings otherwise the graphics package is colour profiling for the 1400 when printing to PowerDriver going to the Ricoh and that will just mess up your colours.
Printing a mug at 200 degrees for 6 minutes is way too long. You should be down at around 170 degrees with the Ricoh inks and pressing for around 2 - 2.5 minutes depending on how your mug press works, but certainly no where near 6 minutes. This will over cook the inks and colours will go off - blacks will appear brown for instance.
Re: ricoh GXe7700
picture quality, i use corel draw as my sub programme, and also have corel photo paint, and i got the ricoh printer
im finding previously when i used epson 1400 i use to get some images which was slightly pixulated but printed off fine and pressed up fine
but im finding with ricoh it isn't amending the images as much as the epson, is there a picture quality within corel or ricoh to make it print bit more clarity
thanks
