Re: Powerdriver settings

Post by Allan »

Hello,

I realised I posted my query in the wrong thread, so I thought I'll repost it here, in case anybody can help me.

I have a Ricoh GX7000 and would like to use PowerDriver to print my transfers, however, for some reason when I go to Paper/Quality Advanced settings print quality is set to High Speed and it's greyed out, I can't change it. I registered the product when I installed it (Register button is greyed out). When I printed it high speed it printed really low quality and very light so the mugs didn't come out as I'd like even though the colour was right.

How do I get Powerdriver to print high-quality and get it to print so the images don't come out too light on the mugs?

Do others have the Quality option greyed out too, or is it just me? Is it worth reinstalling Powerdriver?

Thank you in advance for any tips.

A few are having this problem - surely you can adjust these settings or tinker with the set up:

Thank you, John, for your reply. Unfortunately my dialog box looks a little bit different and under Quality it has High Speed and it won't let me change it. I was wondering whether anybody using Ricoh printers with PowerDriver knows how to change it or what else is there I could do that could help.

Hi Allan I setup my GX7000 with the power driver from here:http://sawgrassink.com/technical-suppor ... werdrivers
And the instructions from here:http://sawgrassink.com/technical-suppor ... werdrivers
and all went well with no grey out adjustment areas.

Jack.

Hi Jack,

Thank you for your response. I did follow the instructions but if you say that yours is not greyed out (which is good news) then I must have done something wrong. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling Powerdriver.

Thanks Allan

Hi Jack,

I just looked at the SubliJet-R: Ricoh GX7000 PowerDriver-R User’s Manual available at sawgrass website. It actually says

Document Settings – Click here for an overview of the default advanced document settings. These settings have been specifically engineered per printer platform and should not be adjusted by the end user.

So as far as I can understand it - Quality / speed settings are greyed out on all Ricoh GX7000

What settings do you use to produce high quality prints so it presses colour rich images? I just don't think that the way it is set up on high speed it can produce what I want - when I pressed the prints I could see the artefacts (little dots) that are created through high speed printing, not smooth at all, and not enough ink to sublimate properly onto the mug. I would probably need more time and higher temperature to get the ink into the mug but not really sure whether that would help.

Can anybody who uses Powerdriver on Ricoh GX7000 share their experience - do you print on high speed for mugs? Does it come out right? What settings do you use?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Alan,
JUst checked through my setting via Coreldraw X5 And in the paper/quality advanced setting graphic it is set at high speed and is greyed out.
Are you using Coreldraw X5?
If so on the preferences page, Substrate: Uinsub Poducts, Paper Type: Trupix classic, Output: Realistic.
On the right hand side the documentation tab give you the settings for Coreldaw using the Tools/ Colour Management/ Default settings. http://sawgrasseurope.indigofiles.com/t ... -CD-X5.pdf
Hope this helps.
Ps I am at the moment using up my Xpress paper and it works ok with that, but I am going to change to Truprint when I need some more paper.

Hello Jack,

Thank you for your reply. That's what I found, I emailed sawgrass support and they said that unfortunately you cannot change the speed of printing with Ricoh GX7000. I find that really strange, why wouldn't you want to take advantage of high quality printing when the printer is capable of printing really great images on high quality. I used similar setting but selected Ceramic as I was going to sublimate on mugs - did you print for mugs or something else?

Does anybody know if there is any colour profile for Ricoh GX7000 I could use that would have the same effect on colours as Powerdriver but could print with Gelsprinter default driver so I can achieve high quality prints?

Thank you so much for all your input.
