Getting a new printer, need HELP!!!
Re: Getting a new printer, need HELP!!!
Hi,
I currently ise an epson which is driving me mad so want to get a new sub printer. I have seen this one... Richo aficio GX-E3350N. Has anyone used one of these OR can someone tell me everything I would need to get it set up? I saw on another forum that it needs an icc profile? I have a ciss but I need to know where best to get a cartridge and chip as well as this I have also seen somethinbg on a forum that says I need to have it from new with original cartriges to set it up.
Than one I originally had was all set up for it so I would need some advice for this.
Thankyou
Asub

Re: Getting a new printer, need HELP!!!
Hi, seen this before and is helpful. Seems to me that you can't use a continuous ink system but just the cartridge which you keep refilling? Does anyone know if I then just buy an empty cartridge with a reset button and fill with sub ink, there isn't a special kind is there?
Thanks
Amy
Thanks

TBH - if you want to go down the filling and refilling route I think you want an epson/brother etc.
The above link in Justin's post has all the info needed on the 3350, but for me, i'd go for the 3300 as you can use the powerdriver, instead of trying to do a work around with profiles for an unsupported printer.
Cheers John

Re: Getting a new printer, need HELP!!!
My recommendation would not to be to use this printer. We had a call from someone who had a 3350 wanting to buy inks and we refused to sell them. The 3350 isn't supported, so why buy a printer for about £50-£70 cheaper than the 3300 and then have no support, no power driver etc. The inks are the expensive part at around £160 +vat for a set, so when you can get the Ricoh GXe3300 and a full set for around £260 +vat is it really worth the monetary saving on getting the 3350?asub;40020 wrote:Hi,

the 3300 is brilliant, totally easy to use, never a clog!

Aaaargh, such a complicated thing to buy, sounds like you can easily buy the wrong things. I might try a diff epson model. Really cant decide!

All depends on funds available and how quickly you want to be up and running earning money!
Re: Getting a new printer, need HELP!!!
Nothing complicated - Ricoh printers that are supported by sawgrass are:
5050n (not sold anymore - profile only, not powerdriver) but that's what I've got. Then you have 3300 / 7000 & then i think the newer model is the 7700
They make lots of different models but the above are the only ones that are supported and use the powerdriver.
All the above use gel ink carts for less blockages.
Cheers John

Choices shouldn't be that difficult if you want to get a supported printer.asub;40071 wrote:Aaaargh, such a complicated thing to buy, sounds like you can easily buy the wrong things. I might try a diff epson model. Really cant decide!
In the A4 market it is ONLY the GXe3300. There are no current A4 Epson models that are supported.
in the A3 market you have a choice of the Epson B1100, Photo 1400 and Ricoh GXe7700 (each increasing in cost)
