A night for copyright it seems. A guy has asked me to do a trial of a design for him - basically the emblem is that used by the London Underground but in white, green and gold with an Irish phrase across it in old fashioned celtic lettering.
Do you think the design is suitably different to the original or are there any issues regarding the shape?

Re: London Underground
Unforunately no - the guy's a bit paranoid about someone else taking the concept ... but I have googled London transport & think he will have to apply to see if can get use of the roundel - they have it copyrighted & it's used in different colours across the London transport system. Not sure colour change will be enough - they seem to hold rights to the actual shape. Guess I'll pass it back to him to try and find out.cardman;38197 wrote:not sure - do u have pics of the actual logo and then one of your logo so we can see if and how much they differ

if he is a bit paranoid about someone stealing the concept, then again be careful what you put on here - it is a public forum remember, i know you - they might not pick the right phrase for the wording, but it would still ruin your (former) customers idea lol

But Ben Sherman already do it with the UK underground as far as I know - so it's not revolutionary. Besides, spoke to him today and he was v blase about it - "It's a different country, so it doesn't matter & well, O'Neill's use adidas stripes (?)" If he ain't interested in finding this stuff out or listening then I pass on it - it's his baby.

Re: London Underground
sometimes you have to let them find their own way in life, my only concern was putting his "baby" on a public forum - i know you have not quoted the celtic phrases, but as others have said ebay ends up with a lot of "ideas" taken from public forums
