Anyone out there with electrical/warranty knowledge?
We had a new element for the cooker under 3 months ago which went again last night, called the geezer who fitted it and they have put a new one in but want to charge a £25 fitting charge (missis at home with them, I'm in the shop).
He said it's normal but we were'nt paying for the part - is this right?
Is this right?

Re: Is this right?
nope, you should not be paying for the refitting, he should reclaim his fitting time from the manufacturer

That's what I thought - anyway, I asked a few other people and then rang him at home and explained that I wasn't too happy - to be honest, I told him if it means having steak and chips when I get home, and he cleaned the fan (he had to strip it out, and the other half has been on at me to do this for ages) - £10 is worth the effort ............... funnily enough he agreed!mrs maggot;37217 wrote:nope, you should not be paying for the refitting, he should reclaim his fitting time from the manufacturer

Re: Is this right?
lol, glad you got it sorted, i have had a nightmare with a neighbours washing machine recently, young mum, waiting 2 weeks for spares for a 3 week old machine ........ or rather she was until i took her to currys, and the manager followed us back to her house in a van with a new machine, and fitted it, and took the "old one" away. oh i love going into a nice busy shop, and explaining very calmly just what is going to happen, and thanking them when it does
