But all i.want to do is have a look on each added file and if there will be any copy right brake i will delete it in seconds. Also i would preffer if dsf members would be fair and donot share this folder with outside word. If this will happen i wont be adding any new stuff there and simply delete folder. Dsf folder is not public. Is shared and can be deleted by me anny time. Also any other person not reffered by me can be kicked out by my and only me so iam the admin. Also if there is any person joining the folder i know about this in seconds. :-)
I just wanted to raise the issues. It's up to the admin & mods to determine if this is the best route to go - just for me to play devils advocate. Any member who has the DSF folder could now simply create a new share and bypass Paul. Paul would only know of members who join the original group. Anyway, it's your decision.

As there is little in the way of premium membership over no membership at present then I thought this resource could offer some value added and encourage more members to pay and reap the rewards. Does the forum set up not permit file sharing along the same lines as drop box in a 'premium only members' section?

dsf folder has no much to do with the forum. its only named like this so people know. This is only simple present from me to others. thats all...

thats true. but if people will spread the word then they wont be a competition as every one will have those frames. so better keep it secret lol ;)

or is it better idea to share this folder for couple of days and then delete it?? and share again when new stuff will come?? but this way you wont know about them instantly :/

opinions, opinions....

Oh, I assumed that as the mod of the forum that this was something do to with the forum, especially as it was named as DSF as well. If it's nothing to do with the forum then that's an entirely different matter then. Share as you wish then :)

I use Dropbox a lot, and I would have posted sooner if I'd been able to access the forum for the last week.

Using a "shared folder" is problemmatic because (i) users must sign up to Dropbox, (ii) anyone can put any file in the folder - including viruses! (do you trust *everyone*?), (iii) anyone can delete the files in it - thus denying everyone else access to the files.

A shared folder should only be used between people you trust implicitly 100%. We're not just talking about whether Paul trusts them enough to give them access to the shared folder because, as soon as a new person is given access that person has access to the folder on *everyone's* computer who's already sharing. Everyone involved needs to trust everyone else who is or may ever be involved 100%. I don't know about you but, when it comes to thoughts of security, giving complete strangers access to a folder on my computer gives me the heebie-jeebies.

A better option is to put the files in your Dropbox's "Public" folder, and then post the "Public link" to the forum (or given to people on request). This way, the recipient doesn't have to sign up to Dropbox, they can't delete the file, and they can't upload other files to everyone else's computer. The original file(s) remain under Paul's control at all times (copies taken by others are out of his control, but they would be anyway).

I use Dropbox a lot, and I pay for the monthly version, so I'm certainly not against the Dropbox principle - but there are different ways of using it. Sharing folders with people you don't really know is not a good security practice.
