Very wired. Is your temp correct on your heat press - can you check with an infrared thermometer? Wouldn't have put this down to length of time as I've seen these pressed for longer. More likely is pressure/ heat I think (extremes rather than just a little bit).mrs maggot;34842 wrote:how weird, it looks as if the image has stretched and cracked - ive not pressed mine yet

Re: free acrylic block from bms
I've just printed mine, and it's printed just fine - except for the Xpres paper sticking to the back (like glass coasters used to do with TruPix paper).
Looks very nice. I'll have to put some thought into stocking some after Christmas. Just wish the price for the blank wasn't so ridiculously high.

Did you peal the paper away whilst it was hot? The backing is mildly adhesive when hot.

Mildly adhesive? It stuck to my greaseproof paper during the warm-up phase..! :biggrin:bms;34943 wrote:Did you peal the paper away whilst it was hot? The backing is mildly adhesive when hot.
I started peeling right away. The paper at the edges of the block came away easily. It's only in the middle that it clung on for dear life. A similar thing used to happen with glass coasters/placemats that had a similar white backing. The problem disappeared when I switched from TruPix to TexPrint paper, so I'll try TexPrint next time I print up one of these.
On the plus side, though, the white backing does the job it should do here. Unlike those glass placemats I mentioned before, the ink goes through the white backing properly - giving a nice vibrant image through the acrylic, and not much colour left on the back as it should be. So that's good news anyway.
I just need to go rob a bank now, so I can afford to buy in some of the blanks... where's me balaclava?
