Ricoh GXe3300n Printer Problem Will Not Print
Re: Ricoh GXe3300n Printer Problem Will Not Print
I don't think you've annoyed anyone!! Often the case though that many questions are in the support guides - just a case of knowing where to look.
Re: Ricoh GXe3300n Printer Problem Will Not Print
Bob700 - sorry if you thought my reply was short and sharp, of course we can help. The reason I asked as these printers are a little difficult to set up so you have to read all instructions and follow them exactly as written. I bought mine separately so had no sub instructions and had to use youtube videos - got there in the end but wish i'd had written instructions.
Hope you get up and running soon!
Cheers John

Hi
I understand exactly what you are saying but we are all different and we all approach things in different ways, there are people who study user guides and manuals from cover to cover and there are people who open a box, ignore the manual and try to feel their way through things.
When I was heavily involved in music I would think nothing of spending £1000's on a piece of equipment, I would open the box switch it on and feel my way through it, most of the time it worked but there were times I had to seek advice.
I did think this forum was about offering/requesting advice, but at the end of the John G and yourself are right in what you say and the answers are probably all in the guides/manuals, but I do have difficulty reading through them.
At my age I don't suppose I will be changing my ways but I will be wary of asking advice on this forum.
Thanks Bob

Hi John
To cut a long story short I have difficulty in reading user guides but at the end of the day the machine printed out a perfect image, the colour on the mug matches the exact colour of the background in my living room, my only problem is that I've just bought a cheap chinese mug press 2nd hand and I can't figure out the temp and timing settings there was no manual but trial and error (my speciality) will figure it out, I just hate wasting mugs
Cheers Bob

Try putting smaller images on your test mugs - that way you can always press it again with another image on the other side.
Out of interest - what make is your press, someone may be able to help with settings

Hi John
It just says XMTF along the top with some chinese writing, I hate these soft button presses, I'd rather have a separate control for temp and timer. I got it from a chap on the forum user name Iain, I also got some sublimation paper from him, I'm really impressed with th results of the paper, the press is in great nick, I suppose when I've saved my pennies for a better quality press it'll make a good back up press

Sorry mate, cannot help - mines got 2 separate counters and switches, one for the time and the other for the temp. Normally you would set it to 180 and 180 but if the previous owner gave you timings just use those.

I'll go with your settings, it's what I set my press at when I was doing mugs previously

John is a man who knows his onions, but with a Ricoh I'd personally go with 170 degrees for 140 seconds.John G;34342 wrote:Sorry mate, cannot help - mines got 2 separate counters and switches, one for the time and the other for the temp. The funny thing is Scotty I'm using 160 @ 160 at the moment on a ricoh with your mugs - I just suggested 180/180 as it's a good starting point. It's trial and error after that
and it does depend on which mugs and press you use.
