We use quickbooks - print off paypal sheets etc and manually input. Its an old version but ideal for us - we may have to update though as the version we are using isn't win7 proof.

Were currently in process of transfering all our payments from paypal & our accounts into the new Tradebox Cash Manager, so far so good, will let you all know how i get on and how it's helping us with our work.

How does that work, does it replace the need for paypal in ebay sales please?

Wow i didnt realise there were so many solutions to accounting out there, does anybody have experience with Sage? I have a problem that needs sorting ASAP, also if anybody has time to do a little work on our accounts were looking for sombody who can help and communicate back and forth via skype

No it means less data entry, Basically tradebox cash manager downloads all transactions from your paypal account and puts them on your sage, so it means you dont have to type in all your Sales & Expenses made via PayPal.

It's going to serious reduce the amount of data entry and will also cut out manual data input errors.

Oh sorry that was aimed at GoldRapt, as he asked how it works, i fully appreciate that your happy with your system, my Wife prefers to manually input the data too but when you have soooo many transactions via PayPal it means you have to do some serious data entry, if this was already done for you it would save so much time, time you could be spending doing other productive things to benefit your business.

Do you have a support package with Sage? Their technical support is excellent. If you need help getting sorted with Sage then it would be best to get a book keeper in for a day or two - this would get your accounts sorted out and then you can build on a solid foundation. If you don't get this on a sound footing to begin with then you are only going to stack up problems for the future and your accountant at the end of the year will have a much more complicated task getting this sorted out.

Thanks for your advice, I’ve had somebody come in and check over the accounts now and feel more comfortable with everything. Hopefully we have taken enough into consideration to avoid any major problems
