Take a look at the 'suppliers' section (see the category on the main forum home page).

You can clean the ink out of your system but you'll need to make sure every last bit is out to avoid contamination. Then you'll need to make sure that the printer you have is a supported printer (if using supported inks).

Using supported inks gives you the profile to use the ink and also the support in case of problems.

Have a look through the suppliers (at the link mentioned above) as most of them supply packages with ink and also with ink and printer/mugs/paper etc - I won't list any as I don't want to sound too biased if I only list a few suppliers - but take a look and if you need clarification on anything post back here.

One last thing - I do hope you get sorted and if you do and feel that you'd like to support the forum then there's a donate button at the top of every page (your choice entirely).

Hi, sorry to bother again. What would you suggest as the way 4ward. Now this is not for a business, I took advantage of a free selling weekend on ebay and made enough to buy all this stuff. I'm always buying mugs of the kids as prezzies for everybody so thought i'd have a crack myself. I don't really have the room to have it all set up so it will be getting pulled out every once and a while.
should i even attempt to replace and refill the ciss system, should i get a new ciss system with the correct ink or go for an affordable appropriate printer that comes good to go??

 you made enough from selling stuff on ebay to afford a whole new set up - sublimation printer, ink, press, inks mugs etc. must have been a lot of stuff you sold.

The Epson DX4450 isn't a supported printer which means there isn't a profile for it and the main suppliers of sublimation inks won't support any difficulties you may have with printing. As the inks alone are going to cost you about £200 +vat (for Artainium ink) then, personally I wouldn't want to start going down this route wasting time and money trying to get this to work properly.

If you've plenty of time on your hands then you could go down this route with the DX4450 but you'll be relying on the generous help of the DSF members trying to get it to work.

Alternatively as JohnG suggests a Ricoh printer with sublimation ink cartridges (SubliJetR) would be much better. Yes you'll be spending a little more money but you'll be printing straight away and without any problems. Look for the GXe3300 as the A4 Ricoh printer with SubliJetR inks.

Had a good look about and the ricoh does seem the easier option, all round. Do any of the lesser ricohs do the same job or just the 3300? They all seem priced the same as well wherever ive looked so i suppose BMS is the smart option to buy from.

Only the GXe3300 is a 'supported' Ricoh A4 printer from new at present. Any other of the 'lesser' Ricoh's won't be supported with colour profiles or PowerDriver so saving a few ££ on the printer would be a false economy.
