Re: Corel Draw 12

Does anyone know if this is still available anywhere?as its not on the Corel site.

I have had this for a couple of years now and had a problem a while back, when I went to the site for support it said that this was no longer a supported version.

I now have major problems which i'm sure started because of a problem with Corel, everytime I try to use it the pc crashes although I can use Robo software. I'm having the hardrive replaced and have un installed the programme.
(I have tried to install the discs onto another pc but it gets part way thru disc 1 then shuts that down too)

Could there be a fault with my disc 1? Only used this once during the initial loading but maybe my cd drive has damaged it as there do appear to be some scratches on it?

Have you tried copying the CD to see if that is possible or copying the entire contents of the CD to an external drive to install from there? Copying the files may identify a problem with a particular file if there is a scratch on the CD and you may be able to obtain that particular file elsewhere without infringing copyright.

Ooh no I didn't know that could be done
I'm having the hard drive replaced this afternoon so i'll mention that to the guy who's doing it, thanks for that.
Certainly don't want to buy another at this moment in time.
I will let you know how we get on.

The guys left last night hoping all was well.

Unfortunately this morn having to start with bare bones and re set color profiles etc which incidently I did find blinking frustrating as I originally did it a long time ago and I seemed to have forgot a fair bit. Any way to cut a long story short I managed to get a test print out to press and Corel just dissappeard.

The following message popped up

CorelDraw.exe Entry Point Not Found.
The proceedure entrypoint GdipGet Image pixel format could not be located in the dynamic link library gdiplus.dll

:( :( Any ideas anyone?

I can't help specifically (I don't have CorelDraw) but a google for the error indicated that similar things could happen in different exe files if a particular Microsoft Hotfix patch is applied to an incorrectly installed Windows XP with SP2. Are you running Windows XP with SP2?

This report was from several years back and probably doesn't apply if you're using SP3 or a different version of Windows.

Just thought I'd mention it in case it helps.

Hi Mandy, Have you downloaded ,or added, fonts to coreldraw or your font manager lately. I read somewhere that if you have a corrupted font this will crash coreldraw and a load more programs.

Cheers John
