Just another thing John,

The colourful coreldraw x4 box that you can see on ads with the multi-coloured ballon half way up and the black bottom half with white writing, is quite fully packed with the CD itself, and a couple of quite decent books about using the software. I honestly think that had I not rushed with Amazon I could have saved myself £20.00 from buying the official guide from Bouton which might not be needed given that the box comes with its own books which appear helpful enough. The Bouton official guide seems a bit heavy to read aswell!!!

TIP: Dont buy any extra books until you've got the boxed software and had a look at the books in it.

Hi Calypso, I'll not need the books as i've used this software for years now - it might have changed over the years but the main functions will be basically the same. I just need a newer version as the pdf and import functions are much better than earlier versions and cater for lots of the new file systems.

Hi John, Justin et al,

I seem to be out of my depth with Corel Draw x4. Looking for a bit of help if possible.

I am looking at printing in simple black on an A4 sheet of transfer paper.
If I was to write something basic such as "I Love Manchester", how do I repeat this another two times (in coreldraw) so that I get 3 of these on an A4 sheet in order to transfer it onto 3 separate mugs?

Hi,
Click on your image and press Ctrl D and this will duplicate anything that is selected.

I draw a template, just cut marks with guidelines, to the size your happy to print onto your mugs - 3 per A4 sheet. I design something, select the design, then press shift and select a template - take finger off shift when both are selected. Click on align and distribute and centalise your design.

If you haven't got an align/distribut button then you'll have to customise your workspace (under tools).

Repeat steps above for the other 2 templates. If you have used boxes for your template remember to delete then mirror your image before printing.

I use CorelDraw X3. I found it a little clunky at first but like most software you just have to stick with it and put the time in.

Did you draw that from scratch - very impressive

Start with a photograph, draw over the top, replicate the shading and highlights etc., then add your choice of background and lettering - job done.

Takes bloody ages but if you have the time...

I only vectorise in single colour so I have always been inspired by your work (over on the dead forum too).....now I don't want/mean to open up a can of worms by any means but your pics you sell on tee's etc of famous people, do you get permissions? do they supply photo's to work from or is it all your own i.e your photo's you work from? even then I guess there may be problems re their names etc? Would love to do things like this but have no idea how copyright might work on it??
Would love a heads up.
