Just signing up to a contract with Koolart now. Only real concern is that any image I use this year will be charged again (all be it a lower rate) so I'll be paying twice. Waiting for confirmation of this.

Do you find it popular busybee?

That's correct Justin. When you purchase an image and use a 'credit' you can then use that image on as many products as you wish for that licence period. If you decide to renew your licence after this you can use any images you have already for the next licence period for 50p per image (once you pay 50p you can then use them as many times as you wish for that licence period ............... and so on).

I signed up last week Justin - great set up :-)

I just got an email back and I asked if I would be invoiced for all images used during the first year at the beginning of the second year at 50p each, answer was yes. I guess this is the only way they can control it but it means you have to allow an extra 50p on every unique job you do throughout the first year and be ready for a larger bill at the beginning of the second year. You're contracted to 2 years so will have to pay the extra.

Mine might be different then, i paid £239.99 last year for the original licence, same again this year but i have kept all my unused credits and kept my bought images and gained another hundred images. To be honest i have only advertised on ebay and havent done much with Koolart, im hoping my new advertising locally may just start bringing people in, i know at events and market's it can be popular but im not set up for that yet.

Yes I have the Koolart license as well, had it for over 2 years now. It has gone very quite on the Koolart front, I was doing quite well out of it, but not sure why it has gone quiet

Maybe Koolart might be selling to anyone who pays the licencee fee. If they restrict to so many in a area ( I believe Avon does it this way. It would help those that had brought it. I have seen Koolart in quite a few places down here. It might have lost its novelty moment. I love the cars but not the wheels.

You can buy an exclusive area with Koolart. I agree, I like the images but don't think the wheels look quite right in some instances, several people have also commented on this to me recently.

I think that's what makes Koolart stuff unique - a bit like marmite .................... you'll either love it or hate it!

Also, for someone who is starting off with koolart (such as myself) you have to think long and hard about the prices for products taking into account the cost of purchasing the credits to use the image.

Cheap and it may pay off and you sell hundreds and it'll work - or Cheap and you only sell a few and can't get the cash back to invest in more credits for images.

or

Too Expensive as you want to keep in mind that you need to cover the credit cost - which could mean you don't sell any as those that have been in the koolart game for a couple of years already have the images and are only paying the 50p to renew the image, so they can afford to do them cheaper than you!

CATCH 22 or what!
