door hangers the metal kind the conner is at the top so it hangs as a square triangle, How do you get you template to that way.

Its a diamond shape, the square triangle is how I could only think of it, it was busy in the shop with smelly people, spent half the day with air fresher must of addle my brain, the other half wanted something I did't have the rest was a funny mixture today. I was also looking after my three year granddaughter, the one that's poke you in the eye, she spent most of her time but the babies as she calls them (Buddha's) to bed around the shop,

Back to the question How do I get the diamond shape in a template 6 by 6 inches on all four sides of my triangle.

LOL well you can't as a triangle by the nature of its name only has 3 sides, maybe a image will help showing what your starting with and what you want lol. Sounds like your trying to fit a circle with 3 sides into a square that has 5 sides lol.

can you not scan the shape ant then just convert to template

Draw a line round the plate on a a4 piece of paper for a template then scan it.
