Hi Guys

I'm in the process of changing my website to opencart, what a nightmare it's been so far. the features are great but has a few bugs in it and coding takes a bit of getting used to to alter things.

however i would recommend it i've install version v1.5.1 on my server.

any tips would be great

I use opencart via easysitesolutions - its also version 1.5 - all options are templates, but if you need a few tweaks the owner soughts em out in no time! Highly recommended!

I prefer to do things myself to be honest.

i've just had a look at easysitesolutions and their website runs quite slow, hosting is more than i pay and they've used opencart to build their website

hmmm, usually pretty fast, but I guess they should use their own product really...some of their sites built seem pretty good though ;-)

Why are you changing Matthew? You were singing the praises of Prestashop a few months ago - have you had problems?

Be good to know as I am just about to create a shop and I was looking at Prestashop.

Hi Matthew , I had a go at Prestashop but wasn't that keen , I am using Opencart and have no real issues at all. I too use the services of easy site solutions and can't fault them. However it is simple enough to set up your own host and install the newest version of opencart . Prestashop do have more to offer but I found the admin a bit of a pain .

What do you have for the £7 a month please?

Shopping cart, forums, etc

What payment systems are used?? for the website

I might go with them (her) for ease if everything is there that I need.

Without logging on to admin I cant remember as I just use paypal for all transactions...but theres a bug list of them! They do a trial where you get to set it up and play with it for a month, if you dont like it, theres no cost, if you do, pay £7 a month, and you can still cancel when you want to... Feature wise - loads to choose from....better to have a look...I'll pm you details if you want to fire an email over...
