empty cart in ricoh 3300

Hi,

Just wandering if you get a 'warning' or something like it when a cartridge is empty on a Ricoh 3300? The display on the little screen is showing 1 bar left for my cyan, and this will be the first time I have had to change one....i've got a replacement just don't want to change it too early & waste ink or too late and do any harm.
