Re: New van design
I'd remove the "delivery van" from the doors and replace it with your address or leave it blank

I agree - this one does look better
Re: New van design
I'd be tempted to take the strap line off altogether or have it a lot smaller underneath the alligiftor text - its taking the emphasis off your company name IMO!
Is this going to be a wrap as you have gone over the contours of the van with the pic and text?

Re: New van design
i like the look of it but i gotta agree with gstk . people read the first and last letters to a word and their brain tends to fill the blanks in theres a page of writing knocking around somewhere all the first and last letters of each word are correct but the middle part of each word is mixed up yet when you read it most people can understand it without a problem. Your name reminds me of this i never realised it was ali gift or until this post highlighted it . but then after the day im having im probably way off the mark. The designs great though better now you lost the smaller gator
Re: New van design
Hia Matthew,
Are you seriously paying £1400 for that design onto a van? I hope not mate, thats well overpriced in my opinion!! You could have a full van-wrap for that and still get change. If you're thinking of using this company, then do yourself a favour and shop around. Your logo is unique and very bold (as in it stands out), this should be incorporated into the design but not be the absolute main focus of it, people will automatically latch onto the alligator anyway (thats the hook), but if i were to design the van then i would add images of all your items to the design....
"Personalised gifts", does the average customer know the amount of different gifts available? nope. You need to show your mugs, mousemats, tshirts, jigsaw's....everything. You might get sale purely coz a punter saw you do personalised pillow cases! Even if most of the design is bullet-pointed with what you do, someone will see it, and thats your goal. That design says to me (as i look at it from a customer point of view)):- Big cartoon of an alligator, but not sure if i just read "alligator" or "alligiftor" & "red van" & "kids parties". The alligator at that size says to me that its a children thing (like kids Play-Zones) and i would look away coz im not interested or at the least I would dismiss it without taking into consideration that the design was displaying something else entirely. For me the design is too 'child' like and not business looking in my mind.
To put "delivery van" on it is a bit silly if you ask me, of course its a delivery van, why highlight the fact unless you were making a play on words like "The AlliDeliveryVan" (i know thats very very bad but you see what im getting at). I would put the 'gator on the far right by the doors and then use the space before it to display all of your services. The font is Arial! arg...there's millions of sans serif fonts a 1000 times better than Arial. It seems the designer has put no thought into this at all, or is a beginner. You need the strap line right below the domain name so that people instantly read the whole design in one. They need to know in one instance that its "allgiftor, personalised gifts for all occasion". People dont look at vans and read them, they look at them and whatever info they take in for that split second is basically all that you have. Do it yourself, stand on a busy road and watch vans go by, then see how much info you took in from just seeing the van without actually reading it. Any good design has it wrapped up in the centre of the piece, your customer needs to know your business "Gifts", the website (in some cases) "allgiftor" and where you are locally. The latter is because people (from my experience) dont contact the website if they're actually in the town that the business is, they like to keep it local. Remember that only local people are seeing the van, not the entire U.K. (unless you're going national), so ask the designer to incorporate this.
I would seriously ask the designer to re-do the whole design and if they give you grief and excuses....move on quickly, there's plenty of other companies that want your business for van-wraps or van livery. If that design was handed to me i wouldve asked them when they're going to finish it!
good luck Matt

...seriously Matt, if you're gonna pay £1400 for that, I'd rather you come to swansea and ill do exactly the same design for £500!

Re: New van design
good idea, but I would do the flyers with an offer on them e.g. 10% off or a free mug or whatever. 8/10 the flyer gets thrown away further away from where your standing, but make an incentive and they might keep it. You could also put a code on the flyer if you want to push online sales, your online merchant program should have a facitlity to add discounts for sure. If your doing markets then why not make an enquiry about making a mascot. Kids love stuff like alligators and I could see a huge lime-green furry mascot handing out flyers at the entrance to the markets. Not only would you be spreading the word of your business but im sure that the kids would love to have their pics taken with a 7' alligator - with your name emblazened on the front of the aligator. The buzz you'd create would be enormous, it would generate its own business because when the customers actually come to your market stall they would stop to look and see what the fuss is about. They might not buy anything there and then, but the seed has been planted! wuhahahahahhahahahahah.Alligiftor;24755 wrote:We will be using van for local deliveries, i've also had a thought about doing a market stall there is 3 markets around our area, where i take samples of products and flyers, brochures etc then hand flyers out to passing people, then they can see our products before they order.
Invest your £1400 into a mascot and then get a better design for your van. That's what i would do anyway.
cheers
Dave
p.s. is your van red or are they going to wrap it red?
Re: New van design
Hi Chongsta
Thanks for comments, i thought £1400 was not bad i was only going to use them cause their a local company to me, i've decided to get a few more quotes.
I won't actually be having a market stall just a pop up stand and go around all the different markets on market day, i've already bought a costume and flyers already have a 15% discount code for both in store and online.
I have a few comments about my business name i'm just wondering if i've made a BIG mistake choosing Alligiftor, saying that for the last few years all my customers have loved it so i feel it would stupid to change name now.
The van is now going to be a full wrap on 4 sides, originally it was going to painted red with green stripe. I might have a go at a design myself see if i can come up with something
