Prices to charge for embroidery

This may be a difficult one to get an answer from, but how much do you charge for embroidery.
I found an internet site that wanted £24.60 inc VAT and postage for a hoodie with left breast pocket writing with 12 letters.
looking at all their other items t-shirts, sweatshirts and polo shirts they added £3 for basic text. found another site that charged for the polo shirt, then no of stitches, then vat and postage and how many and where and I gave up trying to work it all out. Seems like a mindfield.
Any suggestions? and what about when it comes to logos.

the standard seems to be £5 extra for a chest logo
so just work out the price of the shirt and add £5 for the embroidery
but don't forget to charge for the digitising as extra
