Advice on bulk orders
Re: Advice on bulk orders
On a seperate question but related to some of what has been discussed, what's a typical order placed with the various people here on mugs? Is it mostly singles per design or do multiples often come along?

Hi Andrew
Again im not best to answer your question being new to the game... some more experience people mabye be able to answer better... but from my limited experience I have had a singles and this is a small order (something I was not looking for - just came along) singles you can obviously make abit more profit as you dont have to take a little off for bulk order... this is my view but others may have different view
Re: Advice on bulk orders
mine come in one two's then multiples, it varies, there is no rhyme or reason how it happens, most times it right place right time, referrals. or simply luck they spotted me and I was lucky because they walk by, I have two prices one for single, next price for four, a wholesale price for a box of 36 and in between ( 5- 35 ) depending if they give a good pitch and catch me on a weak moment, and we wheel and deal, or I strike lucky and get what I asked, Although I have hard and fast rules about price it's not all ways easy to do, when faced with when you know what you have in the till, the person your dealing with, and if they have a cause closed to your heart, but I take all orders gratefully but you cannot predict when they will come or how often or most importantly if they will come back for a repeat order what ever your price, the one thing I do know is if the like you , your sales pitch. humor sometimes price isn't everything.

Hi
I wonder looking at some of the prices mentioned why I have spent a fortune on equipment when I could get them produced so cheaply.

No offence to the ladies on here just making a point.

Hi Jennywren
Sorry for any confusion. What i simply meant was
1: Any one who works cheaply is always busy
2: That the price some people charge per mug it would be cheaper to out source than investing in machinery, time and materials.
Hope that clarify's my thoughts.
Regards David

Re: Advice on bulk orders
Doubt anyone would take on outsourcing work at a low coast for singles which many are dependant on.
Re: Advice on bulk orders
Hi Andrew. Yes I think you are right i was just being a little flippant especialy considering my own investment. I just wonder how some people especialy on ebay make any money with the prices they charge.
Re: Advice on bulk orders
I never do singles so my costs are way below most.
This is what the thread really started about though as imo there is a distinct difference on pricing for orders of 50 + compared to singles. Very few if any would say you will be able to get by selling mugs for £3 when they are singles but 50/100/1000 etc is different.
