Ebay......sales?

Hi there, a regular topic I know.....but was curious earlier today to see if many sales were seemingly being made on ebay for subli mugs and moneyboxes especially...so I did a quick search and had a look at some sellers feedback to see if any recent sales were made....

...the answer, as far as I could see was there weren't many at all! There's a lot of people advertising, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of selling going on....

... so I wonder, is that because of the time of year?
... the prices?
... the designs?
...something else?

...so, I'd like to throw it open to the forum please - whats your general opinion of ebay or similar market places at the moment? Obviously, being new, I'm not aware if there are any peaks/troughs etc as yet....

I will also be interested in peoples thoughts on this... I will tomorrow be throwing my 2 "fathers day" designs on eBay and hopefully they will sell but as of yet I am waiting to break my duck with my first sale :-/

The problem with ebay, I think, is that there are sooooo many people selling on there, and some seem to be giving them away! Its hard to stand out and hard to complete....although it is early days...!

Some are giving them away, sadly.

You need to make sure you have good key words in your title and be competitive on price, without under selling your item. If it's too cheap, that can put people off aswell as they think they are getting poor quality.

I had mine advertised at £5.95 plus postage, but I have to say I have reduced them lately to £4.95 plus postage to see if it makes a difference....will keep my eye on it.... some are on there for £3!

its a hard market on ebay with mugs....ive decided not to bother and just market some of the more niche items i produce on there instead. Best of luck !!
