Hello guys,

What's actually the difference?
Does it have anything to do with sublimation?

No - I think these are either laser or inkjet printed.

Sublimation will only take onto white/light coloured garments (100% polyester or high content of polyester) or substrates that have a sublimation coating.

Toner/inkjet transfers go onto light or dark colour garments including cotton.

These are only used for transfers not sublimation. ;)
Ride it like you stole it shiny side up.

There is a 'dark paper' for sublimation. You print directly to it with sublimation inks and then cut around the image, peal off the back and heat press to your garment. You can also use sublimation flock to get a similar effect on dark garments.

'Dark paper' for laser is something like OBM5.6 from TMT. You print on this with a colour laser printer, cut around, peal off the backing and press.

Can I use dark paper on mugs? Or is it just for garments?

Mugs are sublimation - they have a sublimation coating so no you cannot use dark paper.
