Just made the move over to X4 from X3, not using it extensively yet but it seems fine at the level I'm working.

I use X4 myself, from what I understand it's Corel or Illustrator if you work with vectors or Photoshop if you work with bitmaps. Luckily my son is a Photoshop genius! I call on him often!
If you can work with Corel & Photoshop you're a a better man than me or maybe i'm just old :D

Do you not have to be a student or not use it for commercial purposes?

There is a copy made for USA and a copy made for uk apparently.
My copy involved following instructions to do associations before i could load from cd. I had to assign associations in the reg editor and whilst it came with instructions It was worrying.
Whats more the boxes are the same.
