Donations - Comic Relief

I've put the donations bar up again for March. I'd very much like to send more money to Comic Relief and whilst I've donated personally I feel compelled to do more.

If you've recently joined and benefited from the forum as many members have please consider donating just a small amount even if it's just £1.

I'm always touched at the generosity of the UK public during these appeals and tonight has been particular emotional. I don't want to get into any politics of why we should or shouldn't help. If you don't want to donate I understand but please don't respond to this thread with any negative comments.

Love him or hate him, Chris Moyles did a cracking job staying on air for over 52 hours and whilst I'm not his biggest fan I found myself addicted to the red button footage as though it was the first ever Big Brother! Seeing Lenny Henry break down on TV tonight really brings it home.

I'll donate one of our DF14 mug presses if you want to organise some form of auction/ bidding process through the DSF. I'll let you decide how to promote this and the auction can run beyond the final days of March if you think giving it longer will give it more exposure to maximise the revenue for Comic Relief. Will include delivery to any UK mainland address as well. This would have a normal buy price of just under £400 including delivery so should boost the total nicely (and/ or give someone on the DSF a bargain!).

if you sold virtual raffle tickets at £10 a pop, 39 tickets, publish the names and ticket number allocated - then agree the date of the draw, sat or wed, then use the first number drawn in the national lottery - that way everyone has a chance to win (well up to 39 people do lol)

Yes, saw this the other day but only just got round to commenting - I think it would work and someone would get a decent bit of kit. Unless its for legal reasons, as in its gambling.

Give me chance! busy busy Yes, I think it's an excellent idea. As long as we can sell a decent number of tickets and make it worthwhile, would you suggest random number allocation or allow folk to choose their own?

ad them onto a spreadsheet, then random sort them, if people want number "3" and someone else has already got that number then it might put them off choosing another from the 38 left lol - do you think we have enough people for the 39 numbers ?? thats the only problem, but it seems right to get the monies worth the machine that martin is offering
