Sublimation Slates - anywhere in the UK?

Got some coming in Andrew, what time and temp did you use? (and did you face up as normal)

I did face up as mousemats/coasters etc. Probably went 195c for 150 to 180 secs..... wasn't concentrating too much. Prnted quite well but not perfect. Didn't think that was down to the time/temp though but rather pressure to the surface which is why I think it might need protection........ and then extra time to let the heat come through. Like I said, I oly printed 1 so no expert

Wow, just checked the timings..... 6 minutes seems way to long. Did you try at this yourself Martin or was it an advised time? I know the thicker glass is around that time but that was face down so heat travelling through the material.

We've not had any chance to print any of these yet and the times are advised by the manufacturers. The thick cold stone will need quite a bit of heating.

I missed my delivery today so i am going to pick up my tomorrow. I ordered only 5 for test insted of 10 (exhaust when in my car so other spends. ) would be good if somone confirm time and temp. also I dont have any silicon can it be done without it??

The slate surface is very flat so you might not need any added protection. I'd be inclined to use something like this as if there are any slight undulations in the flat surface the then silicon rubber will cancel them out and ensure a good contact with the surface.

I had a marking around what is possibly the high points. Just made it look like some dull patches. They were very flat as you say Martin but the slightest rise on the surface will take more pressure and heat forced direct into it. We don't often have a product that has no give on the surface under pressure. I'll try more tomorrow but it would be good if others get a chance as well. Wish I had tried more now to give better feedback.
