Travel mugs from BMS
Re: Travel mugs from BMS
Hi all
I've been asked to print on some of the stainless steel travel mugs. I've never sublimated on metal before so was just wondering....
Are these a quality product (they bought some recently in Poundland which dripped!)
Do images come out nice and bright (I'm assuming not as bright as ceramic mugs)
They want a logo (mostly red I think) on them - do I need to do anything in Photoshop to enhance colours before printing?
Would I put them straight in cold water once printed (like ceramic mugs)?
Many thanks in advance
Barry

Re: Travel mugs from BMS
The silver travel mugs look best with black text on them as something like red will have a silver background to them. We have the white travel mugs arriving sometime next week which will look better with full colour. And no they don't drip (unless you turn them upside down).
Re: Travel mugs from BMS
Thanks Martin
My view is that the silver ones look more "normal" (ie the same as ones you'd buy in a shop). Personally, which ones do you think look more of a "quality product"? The customer may decide on a black logo on the silver, rather than a red logo, based on your earlier comments...
Cheers

Re: Travel mugs from BMS
Thanks Martin and Paul.
Martin - do you know what day the white ones will be in? Customer needs 16 by March 1st! It's possible that I may ask you to print and send direct to them, due to timescale. Please can you PM me total cost to print and post 16 to Stoke? Cheers, Barry.

Re: Travel mugs from BMS
I personally prefer the silver style. Looks far more expensive imo. Colours go on their fine and just look metallic. Photographic images would probably look better on white as Martin mentioned. The sublimation style are generally very good quality.
Re: Travel mugs from BMS
Sometime this week. Don't know actual day yet as the ship was supposed to dock on Friday and have to wait for customs clearance, delivery slot etc.do you know what day the white ones will be in?
Re: Travel mugs from BMS
Thanks again Martin. Do you know roughly what they weigh (trying to work out a price for postage).
Re: Travel mugs from BMS
They will weigh less than mugs, but you'll have to pack them in bubble wrap for posting I would have thought. I can get a weight of the silver ones on Monday and post back.barryslip;16848 wrote:Thanks again Martin. Do you know roughly what they weigh (trying to work out a price for postage).
Re: Travel mugs from BMS
Thanks Martin - super fast delivery again, the travel mugs arrived this morning...!
Just one more question before I print on them - do I need to submerse them in cold water (like the cermaiic mugs) as soon as they are removed from the heat press?
Thanks everyone for your very helpful comments on this subject.
